Many commenters take Manson as saying that (nearly) all intellectuals are idiots. I don’t think that’s what the video actually is claiming, although I have to admit, the video is somewhat incoherent en confusing. So, ignoring the video and focusing on all the happy commenters that think that their anti-intellectual bias has been confirmed (ignoring that Manson himself is also an intellectual; surely he is one of the few exceptions!) I have to admit that discussing this topic is difficult because as with so many conspiracy theories (yes that’s what this is) there is that nasty kernel of truth. Intellectuals that are either detached from reality or enthralled by some ideological bias that corrupts their science do exist.
The defect in the conspiratorial brain is to take this kernel of truth and proudly proclaim that this is proof! That everybody with a university degree is an idiot! They’ve known it all of their lives. Studying is bad for your mind. Thankfully, they have escaped that nasty trap. No need to read books (Manson reads tons of books, but he is the exception of course!). And so it goes, the uneducated morons that think that opening a cold one is the true source of knowledge are actually the smart ones, they win! (Thanks to Trump, who also never reads books! Not even his own book, someone else wrote that.) Morons rule! A happy ending to all this will follow soon!
